Introduction

The overall dimensions of the cart are ___” high × ___” wide × ___” deep. I arrived at these dimensions by measuring the height and depth of the washer and dryer; the width was determined by the amount of space between the washer and dryer.

We’ll probably want some kind of bumpers on the sides of the cart to keep it from scratching the washer and dryer as it rolls in and out.

Materials

  • __ — 18 mm (~ 3/4”) 13-ply baltic birch plywood
  • 2 — swivel casters.
  • 2 — rigid casters.
  • 4 — bolts for casters (carriage bolts?)
  • 4 — nuts for casters
  • __ — washers for casters
  • 1 — handle

Cut List

Number Material Size Description
2 18 mm plywood ___” × ___” Front and back. Overall cart height is ___”, including ___” caster height.
3 18 mm plywood ___” × ___” Shelves. ___” long + front and back 3/8” rabbet depths.
6 18 mm plywood 33/8” × ___” Side rails. 3” high + 3/8” rabbet depth. Adjust height to suit your needs.

Construction

In the front and back, cut a 3/4” wide × 3/8” deep rabbet at the bottom end. Cut a 3/4” wide × 3/8” deep dado 3” from the top. Cut a 3/4” wide × 3/8” deep dado in the center, ___ ” from the top.
