# Trivia for August 2019

If the sum of the digits of a number is divisible by three, the number is divisible by three.2 Likewise, if the sum of the digits of a number is divisible by nine, the number is divisible by nine.3

The watermelon is the official vegetable of the State of Oklahoma.4

SpongeBob SquarePants’ has a total of 40 holes in his body and his square pants cover 11 of them.5

The number of prime numbers less than 1,000 is the same as the number of hours in a week: 168.

Contrary to popular trivia lists, our eyes are not the same size from birth and our nose and ears do stop growing.6 7

In 1914, by Derrick N. Lehmer published a list of the first 665,000 prime numbers (“List of prime numbers from 1 to 10,006,721”, Carnegie Institution of Washington). He included 1 as a prime number, although in 2019, it is no longer considered prime. Today, that list can be created in 1.981 seconds on an interactive web page.
